Who is this for?

This service is for established, community-led not-for-profits who are looking to scale their impact. I work with clients across the spectrum of grant readiness, from those who already have a pipeline of grant ready projects awaiting funding, to those seeking support to establish their grants strategy and to fine-tune project ideas to give the best chances of success. While I specialise in grants and grant strategy for remote Aboriginal Corporations, I also bring significant experience across a range of sectors including child and family welfare, rare diseases and disability.

This service will be a fantastic value-add for your organisation if you are:

  • A not-for-profit organisation and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO)

  • Based in remote Australia and facing recruitment challenges. Bonus points if you’re in the Kimberleys (I used to live in Kununurra WA).

  • Ready to scale your impact but don’t have the funds to employ a full time grant writer.

  • A not-for-profit with an existing fundraising or grants team but your team is stretched and needs additional support.

  • Seeking support to hone your grants strategy and underlying systems. You may have experience applying for ad hoc grants, but until now you haven’t had the time or space to setup a grant calendar, to strategically assess grants and your readiness to deliver if successful or to craft a series of grant ready projects to drive organisational growth and impact.

  • An organisation with a range of fundable project ideas, but require specialist expertise to craft competitive applications.

Services

My grant support packages have been designed with flexibility at the core, meeting organisations where they are and tailoring my support accordingly. Once signed up, you’ll have access to a range of my grant-related supports including:

  • Grants strategy: shifting from a scattergun approach of ‘if we’re eligible, let’s apply’ to a considered approach that diverts time and energy towards grants that offer the greatest impact for your project.

  • Grant scoping - researching and identifying appropriate funding opportunities that align with your organisation’s vision, mission and goals.

  • Strategic grant assessment - once a grant has been identified, I will work with you to explore its suitability for your project. I review past applicants and liaise with grant makers on your behalf to determine project-grant fit before we begin the application process.

  • Project development – tailoring your project to best meet the funding requirements including by developing project plans, program logics and related documentation.

  • Grant writing - developing comprehensive grant proposals outlining your proposed project and how your approach will achieve desired outcomes in line with the requirements of the grant program.

  • Reviewing and editing proposals - ensuring each proposal is clear, presents a logical and persuasive argument and aligns with the stipulated funding guidelines.

  • Budget development - developing a balanced budget outlining the projected expenditure required to deliver your project to a high standard.

FAQs

  1. What if I only have grants to apply for sporadically?

Easy, sign up to my seasonal package and only redeem each month when you have grants to apply for. You can always purchase another package if more grants arise throughout the year and you run out of time. A seasonal package allows me to get to know your organisation over the course of 12 months, speeding up the drafting process and leading to faster turnaround times.

  2. Why not just hire a full-time grant writer?

I offer high-quality grant scoping, writing and assessment services at a fraction of the cost of a full-time staff member. Applying my intersecting skill sets of grant strategy, grant writing and project development, I work quickly and efficiently, ensuring a fast turnaround with quality output.

  3. Is there a limit to how many grants you can support us with each month?

It is my utmost priority to write high-quality applications that have a high chance of success. Within my package options above I’ve provided some suggestions as to what I can deliver for organisations each month. Output depends heavily on the complexity and size of each application. We will discuss your requirements upfront and determine what’s achievable to ensure maximum potential value for your organisation.

  4. How quickly can I expect a draft of each grant?

I understand the stress of an impending deadline and strive to deliver all drafts within 3 business days. Major government tenders that require more comprehensive responses may take longer.

  5. Do you take a commission on successful applications?

I don’t take a commission on any funding applications that I write as there’s nothing that pleases me more than achieving success for the organisations that I support and seeing impactful projects come to life.
